Autism (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ASD), affects the way we think and behave with other people in social settings. It also affects our ability to understand our emotions and sensations. As it affects both how we feel and what we do it presents with different challenges in each person (what we call the ‘spectrum’).

Knowledge creates insight, and insight creates understanding. Understanding, here, starts with early diagnosis, moving forward with a prognosis that’s tailored to the individual. Intervening promptly means your child will be immediately and consistently aided, provided with an intervention plan that’s right for them. Their personal symptoms, traits and characteristics will be acutely monitored over time, providing a critical and supportive measure of performance. Improving the trajectory of your child’s development, and increasing the likelihood of positive developmental outcomes, depends upon recognising and raising their distinct needs. The earlier this is done, the quicker tailored methods, strategies and plans can be put in place and applied. In our cinic we see children from the age of 18 months old.

AN INITIAL CONSULTATION TO ASSESS THE APPROPRIATE COURSE OF ACTION

Comprehensive Discussion: A detailed and in-depth conversation which is Autism Diagnostic Interview Revised, ADI-R, between a specialist clinical psychologist and the parent or carer, to offer a detailed developmental history, including insight into the child’s social communication skills
Direct Interaction: Face-to-face observation of the child or young person under the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition, ADOS-2, to glimpse their communication skills and social understanding
Direct Support: A network of highly qualified, experienced multi-disciplinary team members with you throughout, following the National Framework for Autism government standards
Collated Reports: A summary of all the steps, collected information and recommendations, including reports from other professionals and investigated areas, such as school, SALT or CAMHS, as well as a clinical Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis where appropriate

POST-DIAGNOSTIC SUPPORT

After our initial consultation and formal assessment, we offer committed and dedicated support. These include support networks, which include shared resources of reliable platforms, communities and workshops to help you and your child feel connected with wider initiatives, offering parents the chance to talk about concerns and issues.
We also provide educational guidance, consisting of implemented strategies to promote inclusive learning, aiding your child in finding an accommodating learning environment.
Continuous monitoring is also offered, including regular assessments, observation and input to ensure interventions remain relevant and effective.
We also provide communication platforms, which consist of open lines of communication between parents, therapists and educators to promote a collaborative approach that provides support and unified updates.

ASD assessment £1350, which includes a diagnostic interview, face-to-face observation, clinical review, family feedback and a comprehensive report.

A deposit of £150 is required in order to book an assessment. Flexible payment options are available.
